Demons v Rams Final

Both Semi Finals were all over before 12.30pm today, with Melbourne and Ringwood both scoring comprehensive wins to qualify for next weekend's Premier Final at the Junction Oval.

At Toorak Park, David King (108no) and Tom Stray (64no) took just 4.5 overs to take the Rams to 1-188 in reply to Prahran's 184. Both skippers immediately agreed to call a halt, just 16 minutes into the second day. King's innings was his fourth century this season and his fourth in his past six innings. It was his ninth Premier century overall.

Across at the Albert Ground, the two not out batsmen, Michael Hill (69no off 65 balls, 13 fours) and Andrew McDonald (89no off 66 balls, 15 fours 3 sixes) rattled on 119 runs today in just 13.1 overs, taking their unbroken stand to 168 in 97 minutes. Melbourne finished on 2/193 in reply to Dandenong's 191, the match finishing inside the first hour today.ben_osborne_with_matho_trophy

Both matches today were for inter-club trophies. Ringwood took the Don Mathieson Trophy, contested on a regular basis by the Rams and True Blues.

Melbourne can add some more silverware to their trophy cabinet - the Warren Ayres Cup, the prize for Demons/Panthers clashes.
